K14 billion needed for National Health Plan

The National Department of Health needs 14.1 billion kina to fully implement the National Health Plan.

This will require 27 per cent of overall government recurrent budget to be allocated to Health.

This was announced by Health Minister Michael Malabag at the National Health Conference currently underway in Kimbe, West New Britain Province.

He said, to fully implement the 8 year plan there has to be an increase in Health Functional Grants and for funding from Development Partners to remain at 294 million kina a year.
