Judges Shortage for trials

The Waigani National Court hearing into the Electoral Petitions is entering into pre-trial hearings but there is a shortage of Judges to conduct hearing.

Judge heading the hearings, Justice Collin Makail said on Wednesday morning that he will look at assigning judges to conduct hearings.

And also as the legal year winds down, most of the cases will be ready for trials in February and March of the New Year.

On Wednesday, a pre-trial hearing took place for the Member for Kairukui Hiri and the Minister for Education, Paru Aihi and his runner-up in the elections.

For judges that reside in provinces, they will carry out trials in the provinces.
