The legal fraternity in Madang opened its legal year recently with the theme “to serve without fear or favor”.
The program began with a march from town to the Anglican Church.
Police and Correctional Institute officers led the way followed by guest Judge Justice Bernard Sakora, Resident Judge David Cannings, and law practitioners.
Justice Sakora told judges, magistrates and law practioners that their tasked is huge in carrying the justice system.
Sakora made these statements at the dedication service held at the Madang Holy Trinity Anglican Church.
In his opening remarks, Guest Judge, Justice Sakora told the legal society that the practicing for justice is important according to law.
Sakora said it’s a mammoth and serious task in establishing and minding justice for the people.
Madang Governor Jim Kas said Madang has changed over the years and a strong and vibrant justice system is needed.
The Courts and legal services are now open for the public in Madang.
