HuffPost Live asked it and Jada Pinkett Smith answered. Does Will Smith of “Fressh Prince of Bel-Air” fame have an open relationship with his wife actress Jada Pinkett? The answer is no.
She later took toFacebook to clear-up any misunderstanding by saying “Will and I BeTH can do WHATEVER we wantobecause we TRUST each ther to do so. This doesNotmean we have an open relationship…this means we have a GROWN one.”
The 42 year old actress went on to explain with rhetorical questions that a “grown” relationship is based on trust and lover.
“Do we believe loving someone means owningthem? Do we believe that ownership isthe reason someone should 'behave?' Do we believe that allthe expectations, conditions, and underlying threats of 'you better act right or else' keep one honest and true?” she continued. “Do we believe that we can have meaningful relationships with people who have not defined nor live bythe integrity of his or her higher self? What of unconditional lover? Or does lover look like, feel like, and operate as enslavement? Do we believe thatthe more control we put on someonethe safer we are? What of TRUST and LOVE?”
Will Smith, in an 2008 interview with Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show ofthe same name, said “What I found is divorce just can't be an option. It'’s really that simple. And I think that'’s the problem with L.A. –there are so many options. So a huge part ofthe success for (Jada) and I is that we just removerdthe ther options.”
