Injury Concerns for Hunters Ahead of Panthers Match

By Dion Kombeng – EM TV Sport, Port Moresby

While the Penrith Panthers have named their side to meet the PNG Hunters early next month, Michael Marum’s team is facing injury concerns.

Hunters players have undergone surgery, and are on the road to recovery before the 2016 season.

Brandy Peter, Anderson Benford and Enoch Maki have injury concerns and are in rehabilitation in Port Moresby.

Michael Marum said the players are well on the road to recovery and will be ready to take the field before the season begins.

Peter is recovering from a broken hand, Benford, an injured foot and Maki is nursing an injured knee.

The three are now focused on recovery before they will be able to join the rest of the hunter’s team at training, following their rehabilitation program.

Meanwhile, the rest of the team is preparing for the big match against the Penrith Panthers to open the new home of rugby league in Papua New Guinea – the National Football Stadium – on February 6.
