Hunters Injury Concerns

It is that time of the year in the SP PNG Hunters camp where injuries begin to become a huge concern. The team play the Redcliffe Dolphins this weekend in their Round 19 clash, with some key players set to be missing.

Despite players missing, coach Michael Marum is confident with his team for this weekend’s match.

Hunters centre Noel Zeming is still in Brisbane, undergoing medical treatment on his wrist, and is said to return today. Watson Boas is also suffering from an injury to his knee, but Marum says he may be named in the team, dependant on his medical results.

Stargroth Amean has been given time off training to sort out family issues, which sees Bland Abavu starting in the fullback position. Marum says he is impressed with the way Abavu has played over the past few weeks but still needs to work on his defence.

Philemon Kimisive has recovered from injury and has been cleared to play but will need to work on his fitness.  This weekend they take on the second placed Redcliffe Dolphins, looking to overtake them and move on up from their current position of third on the ladder.

Marum will finalise his travelling 18-man squad on Thursday before they depart on Friday for the Sunday match at Dolphins Oval.
