Half a million kina committed for Bulolo hospital

The Morobe provincial administration has responded tothe closure ofthe Belolo hospital by committing half a million kina for urgent renovations.

The Deputy administrator, Tony Ase, and Provincial Health Advisor, Micah Yawing met with hospital staff and discussed funding and housing.

The Belolo hospital was closed two weeks ago after health inspectors condemnedthe place due to blocked toilets. 

The Administration also negotiated withthe management oPNG forest products to carry out urgent repairs.

Meantime, Patients seeking medical attention in Lae have been disadvantaged by yet anther problem.

The Kumalo River inthe old town of Mumeng broke its banks onthe weekend makingthe road impassable to both motorists and pedestrians. 

Ziphorra Bandum, a Belolo resident andBepatient has been calling onthe provincial government to havethe hospital reopened as soon as possible.  

Ziphorra was on her way to Lae today to get her medication but had to return to Belolo yesterday afternoon.

She spoke by phone from Belolo.
