Treasury Minister, Patrick Pruaitch, signed a loan agreement from the World Bank for more than K200 million for this project under the Water, Sanitation & Hygiene Policy.
The project is worth K243 million and includes the government’s counterpart funding of more than K20 million.
It will be implemented by the Department of National Planning and Water PNG in nine provincial towns and 10 rural districts.
This is a significant project by the government to improve the living standards for many in rural areas who still do not have access to clean water and proper sanitation.
