G4S Guard Assaulted While Carjacked

Security firm G4S have released CCTV footage of a carjacking and unprovoked physical assault on an unarmed G4S security guard in Port Moresby.

 

The carjacking took place on 1st of February around 3 o’clock in the afternoon hours, at Latitude 9 Apartments, near Lawes Road.

The footage showed a silver Toyota Sedan of four armed suspects, following the targeted vehicle into a secured compound, before holding the expatriate driver and a child at gunpoint.

 

Another suspect who remained at the entrance gate is shown indiscriminately assaulting the lone G4S guard with a hammer.

 

The expatriate driver was forced out of his car with his child while the suspects removed all his personal belongings.

 

Fortunately, the G4S officer and expatriate driver and child were unarmed.

 

G4S Management said, the attack was unprovoked and unnecessary and requests the public to provide any information on the identification of these criminals. 

 

A formal complaint has been laid with police in NCD however no leads have been reported.
