Three men who were involved in the murder of four Chinese nationals were recaptured this morning.
The escapees captured were part of the five suspects involved in the death of the Chinese nationals murdered in June last year in Port Moresby. Four of them had escaped custody in October last year and have been on the run.
While one is serving time at Bomana, three were captured by the NCD Homicide Squad in Gulf Province, and one is still on the loose. The three captured were charged for Willful murder and will further be charged for unlawfully escaping custody.
It is understood that Keith Airi and Eric Leko conspired with the other three suspects to kill the Chinese men and woman last year. NCD Metropolitan Superintendent, Andy Bawa, commended his men for the successful raid to capture the suspects and called on the community to further assist the police to arrest the suspect at large.
