Enga Mioks Recruit Young Rugby Talent

By Godwin Eki – EM TV Sport, Port Moresby

Enga Mioks have identified, and recruited six young players from around the country, to be part of the team for the 2015 season.

The players were scouted from various suburban competitions and rugby nines, and rugby sevens tournaments.

Gahuna Silas, is one of the selected players.  At 19 years of age, his talents were recognised while competing in the Coca Cola Ipatas Cup. He is proud of his achievements, so far, and of securing a spot on the team.

Gahuna said that his rugby league dream had come true, and is ready to prove himself worthy of being selected into the Mioks side. He added that he was excited to represent the province, and his family.

He highlighted the opportunity given to him to not only start his rugby career, but to also commence his education in Enga.

He hopes to one day wear the Kumul jersey and represent the country, to a greater extent.
