Education secretary, Dr. Uke Kombra has issued directives for the principal of Balob Teachers College to be charged and suspended for not following proper processes, in enrolling students.
Dr. Kombra said all applications from non- school leavers have to be screened by the college, before their names are submitted to the education department for further verification and approval.
He added that some of the students who were enrolled at the college in the past two years did not have their names verified and approved by the education department before enrollment.
This action to discipline the principal comes after Balob graduates from 2019 and 2020 raised concerns over delays in getting their diploma certificates.
Kombra said the graduates who have not received their certificates are those who weren’t enrolled following the departments procedures.
