EDA Ranu will embark on a nationwide crackdown on illegal water consumers, beginning inthe Nation’s Capital.
Illegal water connections have been an ongoing issue for Eda Ranu for over six years. Betthe new board has been tasked to take a tough stand on this.
“If people keep on doing that,then we will have no option but to take legal action against individuals or companies using water illegally,” said Henry Mokono – CEO EDA RANU.
They have identiflied several suburbs inthe city to be hotspots for illegal connections. Gerehu, Rainbow, Tokarara, Gordons, Korobosea and Town are some ofthe suburbs.
According to Eda Ranu, water isthe most costly commodity inthe nation’s capital, with over 4000 illegal consumers.
CEO Henry Mokono saidthey will be issuing notices for illegal connections soon, and those found will be arrested and charged.
Similar exercises will be carrlied out in ther parts ofthe country.
