DWU Impose Strict Measures after Students Test Positive to COVID-19

Divine Word University has imposed strict Covid-19 protocols after more than 20 students tested positive to COVID-19.

President, Fr. Phillip Gibbs said most of the positive cases were flexible learning students and few regular students.

The measures put in place include social distancing and mandatory mask wearing at all times.

The students who have tested positive are able to attend classes via zoom.

Classes are divided into two sessions; morning and afternoon.

The University is also organizing a digital forum for students and staff to discuss some of the issues and concerns raised on Covid-19.

Fr. Phillip Gibbs explains the forum will also discuss the Q&A booklet on Covid-19 recently written and realized by Papua New Guinean experts.

Where most students have openly expressed fear of being vaccinated.

The University will also be sending five nurses and a doctor working at its clinic to Port Moresby to be vaccinated.
