Double Header Indoor Cricket

Pacific International Hospital, PIH, Indoor Cricket competition is approaching round nine of season five.

The event will see some double-header playoffs for all teams starting this weekend and will continue up until the finals. In line with this, game schedules will also change, where competitions for both days will start at 10am each week.

With five rounds yet to be played for both men’s and mixed teams, top four teams from each pool will advance to super 8s. Teams ranked from 5th to the 10th spot will advance into the plate playoffs, whilst teams ranked out side of 10 will miss out on the playoffs.

Playoffs at this stage will commence on February 11. While initial draws were scheduled to be played until round 11, the Port Moresby Cricket Association has decided to extend the round. This is due to not having enough time for each teams to play against each other, deferring their rounds to 13, in ensuring all teams are included.

Moving forward, any washout events that occur in the next few rounds will not be replayed. This is due to lack of time and accessibility of courts, with all wash out matches to result in no points.

Meanwhile, Round 9 mixed match between NTIL and Brian Bell has been moved forward to next weekend
