Dept. of Lands: Corporate Plan Launched

The Department ofLands and Physical Planning launched its Corporate Plan atthe Gateway Hotel in Port Moresby yesterday.

The plan summarizesthe department’s priorities and performance for the next 5 years.

 

It was launched by National Planning Minister, Charles Abel andLands Minister, Benny Allan.

The Corporate Plan will ensurethe Government’s objective of land availability to meet development requirements.

The plan introduces three policy initiatives; legislative review, computerization of land information system andthe collection of outstanding land rental owed to state.

Minister Allan saidthe plan’s vision is to make land available and improverthe quality of life for all citizens.

Secretary forLands and Physical Planning, Romilly Kila Patosaidthe corporate plan aligns withthe Government’s medium and long term goals includingthe Vision 2050.

Mr Kila Pat told lands officers to refrain from illegal practices to achieve desired goals.

Speaking atthe launching, Minister for National Planning, Charles Abel, saidthe corporate plan isthe agency for land mobilization.                          

Minister Abel stressed that he will supporttheLands department in its endeavours.

The plan was developed through a participatory process involving management and staff oftheLands department.
