Department of Works first to buy newly launched Hino trucks

The Department of Works was the first client to purchase the models which will be added to the existing construction fleet for the department.

Works First Assistant Secretary for plant and transport division, Andrew Buna, says the new trucks will be used mainly for building and maintaining rural road networks.

Ela Motors had announced the introduction of its new Hino trucks last friday. The company now has 20 different models.

In 1976, the company introduced the first batch of Hino truck models into the PNG market. The brand is now synonymous with construction in the country. With a dedicated customer base, the company has also established a service centre for the trucks.

Ela Motors Divisional Truck & Equipment Manager, Greg Williams, launched the new products of the Hino range. He said the trucks are made to PNG conditions.
