NID Registrar General Dickson Kiragi said the process to issue National Identity Cards and birth registration will be audited starting Monday next week.
This follows complaints raised by frustrated members of the public this morning on the delay to the issuing of their cards at the Boroko office.
For some of them, it has been weeks stretching into months of follow ups for their NID cards.
As they are unemployed, they are desperate to get their cards as it is now demanded by banks and other service providers.
Due to the power supply issues which has been brought to the attention of the landlord of the building, the office will be partially opened on Monday.
Another immediate step will also see the Registrar General himself along with his senior employees at the counter at the Boroko office to attend to queries.
He further elaborates that that all NID and birth certificate registration are free.
