The King James version of the bible must not be used as a political tool to reform the Parliament. This comment was made following strong opposition from the Grand Chief, Sir Michael Somare, and the Catholic Professionals Society (CPS) yesterday.
President of CPS, Paul Harricknen, said “the bible will not put a stop to evil and corruption in the country; rather it is our political leaders who must make the change themselves.”
The King James version of bible was brought in by Parliament Speaker, Theo Zurenoucb and other leaders from the United States as part of a Parliament reform the speaker is making to stop all evil and corruption in parliament and the country. The speaker is also moving to remove all traditional carvings and objects in Parliament.
“Evil and corruption is not fought with physical things, it’s fought within a person. They (Speaker) are passing the bark to say that the carvings in Parliament are the main cause to evil and corruption in the country when the real cause to these is our leaders themselves,” Harricknen said.
