Corporate Va’a Challenge Raises Funds For Paddlers

24 teams from corporate houses in Port Moresby competed in the men’s, women’s and mixed divisions.

The 250-metre race got the paddling under the calm seas and clear blue skies at the Royal Papua Yacth Club.

Established 11 years ago, Club President, Okaro Yagi said not only has she seen, people from different corporate houses become good friends, but it has also help them keep fit.

Okaro said despite the challenge itself, the aim of the club is to raise funds for paddlers who will be travelling to Townsville.

Prizes were given out to the winners at the end of the competition.

The challenge the winning team had its name carved on a small paddle, as well as presentations of medals.

Konedobu Kanu Klab will send its Men’s and Women’s team to Far North Queensland on November 18th.
