After Day 7 of competition in the Commonwealth Games, PNG’s mixed doubles table tennis team had 3 first round losses before a second round loss to Scotland, while the men’s doubles had a 3-0 loss to Zambia.
In squash, the women’s doubles team beat Trinidad and Tobago, two sets to one, and the men’s doubles lost to Australia 3-0.
PNG’s medal tally remains unchanged, with one gold and one silver, as England lead the rest of the Commonwealth Games with 44 gold, 40 silver and 39 bronze, Australia coming in second on 36 gold, 36 silver and 41 bronze and Canada in third place on 27 Gold.
Papua New Guinea is ranked number 16 on the tally and is highest of the Pacific Nations.
The next events that will see PNG athletes will include table tennis, where the women’s doubles will take on the Maldives and Scotland. The mixed doubles squash team will meet with India and Malaysia.
