Charity Golf Tees Off

The Malaysian Association of PNG's annual MBC Charity Golf event teed off this morning with forty two teams taking part.

The event is to raise funds for a number of different charity organizations with the Port Moresby General Hospital to be a major beneficiary.

Teeing off later in the day, corporate teams were pitted against each other in the 36 hole event.

While not an actual competitive event, good golf was on display.

Organizing chairperson, Ivan Lu was happy with the commitment shown by the companies.

Over four and a half million kina has been raised over the past 13 years that the MBC Charity Golf event has been happening and organizers are hoping that this year will be more generous.

A corporate dinner will be held on Saturday evening with an auction to be held, and organizers are hoping that funds raised will break the previous K900, 000 record set last year.
