Service delivery must be seen to be reaching the people in rural areas in Central province.
These remarks were made today in the Nation’s capital by both the Central Province Governor, Kila Haoda; and Provincial Administrator, Gei Raga.
They were speaking at the presentation of five vehicles to each of the districts of the Central Province, to improve service delivery.
The presentation of the vehicles took place at the Central Provincial Government headquarters at Konedobu today.
In the presence of the province’s five District CEOs, Governor Haoda, said the rural people of Central Province are the focus of the Provincial Government, and thus the vehicles were given to ensure the people receive better service delivery.
Provincial Administrator, Gei Raga, said the vehicles are to be used by extension officers in the respective districts to do their work efficiently.
The vehicles were dedicated with a prayer of blessing, and the keys were presented to the respective CEOs of the Rigo, Abau, Kairuku, Hiri, and Goilala districts.
The five Toyota Landcruisers cost over K600,000 in total, with the funding sourced from provincial grants.
AdministratorRaga warned that the vehicles were to be used strictly for business purposes, and only within business hours. Any breach of these instructions will invite consequences.
