Polling for the Council Elections inthe Southern Highlands Province began today. Campaigners went all out to draw voters inthe last few days.
Candidate Kepo Rombame Pisimi, carrlied out his campaign last Friday, to inform locals of plans to make Ialibu a model town in PNG
Candidate Pisimi and his supporters came out in full colour to win as many votes asthey could.
Rombame was brought out intothe rallying arena by his tribesmen, fully clad in traditional wear.
Thousands of supporters gthered to hearthe candidate address.
His policies, centred aroundthe government’s Vision 2050 andthe Medium Term Development strategy, cover priority areas such as economic reform, health and infrastructure development.
There are 13 candidates contestingthe mayor seat in Ialibu urban.
