More donations are pouring in for the West New Britain flood appeal.

Today, two business houses in Port Moresby, Brian Bell Limited and CPL Group of Companies, presented boxes of tents and a cheque of K125,000.

West New Britain Governor Sasindran Muthuvel was overwhelmed with the donations, saying business houses have been very supportive of the appeal.

“I know the tents and money will be used for a good purpose to help those severely affected by the floods earlier this year,” Muthuvel said.

The tents will be airlifted or shipped to Kimbe for the West New Britain Provincial Disaster Office to repack and distribute to families and communities.

CPL General Manager Omprakash Seshadri says the company is committed to helping and bringing back normalcy to the people affected by the floods.

“We have our branch in Kimbe and we will work with the government with an open heart,” Seshadri added.

Not only that, but the company’s City Pharmacy business will donate more than 5,000 packs of ORS and Zinc, medical drugs for people who have diarrhea from drinking contaminated water. CPL’s supermarket Stop ‘n’ Shop will provide assorted food while Hardware House will donate 200 tarpaulins, 100 jerry cans and 200 anti-mosquito nets.
