The Ministry of Sports and Games Organising Committee today reached another milestone in their build up to the Pacific Games.
The Bisini Parade was officially opened by the Minister for Sports and 2015 Pacific Games, Justin Tkatchenko, alongside members of the PNG Sports Foundation.
Playing host to cricket, soccer, softball and lawn bowls, the Bisini Parade has had a phenomenal transformation, in such a short period of time.
While it is a milestone and a contributing factor to the lasting legacy, Tkatchenko speaks of, he says “the race is not over, just yet.”
Tkatchenko said, “This has really come together nicely. It looked a bit of a mess only 6 months ago. But it’s amazing what can be done when we all get together and work together for the benefit of achieving the 2015 Pacific Games.”
The Sir John Guise Outdoor stadium was officially opened by Prime Minister, Peter O’Neill, earlier this week, the Bisini Parade being the second venue to be officially opened.
It definitely goes to show that PNG is Games ready.
