Kavieng MP Ben Micah has applauded New Ireland Governor Sir Julius Chan for the great leadership he has shown throughout his parliamentarian term.
Not only that, but also as the People’s Progress Party leader.
A small but significant ceremony of ‘thank you’ entailed at the 5th New Ireland Council of Elders Conference.
Mr Micah took the opportunity to voice his appreciation and gratitude to one of Papua New Guinea’s living legends, Sir Julius Chan, for his great political leadership.
Not only for that, but for passing powers as Peoples Progress Party leader.
Sir Julius, members and supporters were also honoured for their effort and commitment, bringing the Peoples Progress Party forward.
Mr Micah explained that the leadership draw-down was a decision made by Sir Julius in one of the party caucus meetings.
In his speech, Governor Sir Julius Chan, while acknowledging Micah’s leadership, stated: “the greatest government stability is transition”, challenging those outside of the development agenda to thaw the line.
