In an interview with Coach Dia Muri, working closely with the players and getting the techniques right is critical as he prepares each one for this year’s Pacific Games in Samoa.
Muri has been pushing the players to learn to play under pressure. As a national rep and coach, Muri has a fairly young team under his wing and personally knows what each player brings to the court. He says what he wants to see, is for each player to take with them ‘patience’ to the Pacific Games.
In the next few weeks the squad will be trimmed down from 20 to the final 8 players of 4 men and 4 women. Muri says despite winning silver at the 2017 Mini Games, the goal now is to aim for gold.
