The Hebou PNG Barramundis have named the squad that will take on Namibia, right here on home soil.
This will be their second time to host World Cricket League Championship after hosting and defeating Kenya 2 – 0 in May this year and the first. It will be PNGs first time to host the Inter–Continental Cup.
Under the guidance of Skipper, Asaad Vala, the Barramundis are expected to put up a good performance as they are currently placed 6th in the Inter – Continental Cup and 4th in the World Cricket League Championship (WCLC).
Whirlwind runner, Mahuru Dai who is consistently landing boundaries and sixes as demonstrated in their South Australian tour, is also part of the squad.
The Barramundis are currently in recovery session, awaiting their first Inter–Continental Cup Match on Sunday.
Their opponents, the Namibians, will arrive in Papua New Guinea today.
All four matches, 2 Inter–Continental Cup and 2 World Cricket League Championship matches, will be played right here at the Baramundis home ground, Amini Park.
Preparations are now fully underway.
Meanwhile, after the Barramundis take on Namibia for the Inter-Continental Cup in two (ODI) One Day Internationals, which is this Sunday and the other one on Wednesday, they will face them again after a day’s rest.
EMTV will broadcast the World Cricket League Championship matches on Friday, October 21, and the other, on Sunday, October 23.
