The PNG Barramundis touched down in Alice Springs this week to play their first 2-Day Match of the South Australian Cricket Association Premier League against the Northern Territory Strike starting today.
After starting the SACA Premier League on a high note with two great performances in the first couple of rounds, the Barramundis dropped their last two matches, to be only one win out of four.
Barramundis head coach, Dipak Patel, said they are looking forward to the new challenge and new format in a new environment.
They have been in training for the last couple of days in Alice Springs and are looking forward to playing 2 Day cricket again and are taking these matches seriously, with the aim of securing the Intercontinental Cup.
The PNG Women’s cricket team has also been on a tour in Australia, ending their campaign on a high note.
They finished their 11 day tour after defeating Australia’s under-18s team by eight wickets.
The Pacific MMI PNG Lewas players will play in the National Championships in Port Moresby starting this month before flying to Thailand in late November to play against Bangladesh, China, Ireland, Netherlands, Scotland, Zimbabwe and host Thailand, to qualify for the 2016 ICC Women’s World T20.
