It is official, and 5 days since, Australia now has a new Army Chief with Lieutenant General Angus Campbell.
Outgoing chief, Lieutenant General David Morrison handed over his command, during an official ceremony in Canberra, Australia.
The 59 year old, Lieutenant General David Morrision has served Australia as the Chief of Army for the last 4 years, however in total it’s been 36 years of Army life for him.
The ex-Army Chief first visited PNG in 1990 and lived at Moem Barracks in Wewak, then at Taurama Barracks in Port Moresby.
He later visited PNG numerous times throughout his career, including the annual visits to PNG as Chief of Australian Army.
The New Australian Army Chief, Lieutenant General Angus Campbell, is approaching 34 years of Army life with a long history of roles and services, including Deputy Chief of Army and Commander for Operation Sovereign Borders
