Air Niugini Jet Aircraft Fokker 70 Makes a Return to Aropa Airport

In a period where national flag carrier Air Niugini has been in the news for the wrong reasons, a more positive achievement for the airline, with PX successfully landing a Fokker 70 aircraft at Aropa Airport, Bougainville.

The aircraft was carrying a delegation from the Finance Department, en-route to Buin for the recent Finance Managers Conference.

Charter flight PX9260 was the first Fokker 70 jet aircraft to land at Aropa following the installation of PAPI lights at this airport in September.

On board was Vice Minister for Finance Johnson Wapunai, Finance Secretary Dr Ken Ngangan, and a delegation from Finance Headquarters, who were welcomed by traditional dancers from the area.
