by Jack Lapauve Jr – EM TV, Port Moresby

The City Mission New Life Skills Training Centre Farm became the recipient of gym equipment donated by the Australian Federal Police (AFP).

The extensive gym equipment will give the young men at City Mission a great opportunity to maintain their physical fitness.

AFP Assistant Commissioner Scott said that the gym equipment would assist and enhance youths with the physical aspect of their rehabilitation process during their time at the farm.

Reverend Ronald Brown, City Mission CEO, thanked Assistant Commissioner Scott and the PNG-Australia Policing Partnership for the gym equipment, saying it would go far in providing proper equipment for the youth to utilise in their physical fitness training.

The City Mission Farm in Mirigeda is located about 20 minutes east of Port Moresby on the Magi Highway and is home to over 170 young men between the ages of 16 and 23.

The majority of young men in the program are straight off the streets of Port Moresby.
