A State Funeral for a Great PNG Statesman – Sir Tore Lokoloko

The State Funeral ofthe Late Sir Tore Lokoloko was held in Port Moresby on Wednesday atthe Sioni Kami Memorial Church.

Joining his family were Prime Minister Peter O’Neil, Governor General Grand Chief Sir Michael Ogio, and Members ofthe Diplomatic Corp.

The Prime Minister described Late Sir Tore as a man who exercised great humility in his role as a senior citizen ofthe country.

It was a fitting service for a greaPNG’statesman.

Begpipes echoed throughthe church asthe casket ofthe late Sir Tore was carrlied in.

Immediate and extended family members were joined bythe Prime Minister and his Cabinet Members,the Governor General and his wife, and diplomats.

Grand Chief Sir Michael Ogio called Sir Tore a man who showed great zeal and professionalism as Governor General.

Prime Minister Peter O’Neil also conveyed his condolences to late Sir Tore’s wife and family members.

He called Sir Tore a man of great humility whose personality touched everyone.

The Prime Minister announced thatthe Government will provide an annual grant tothe Sir Tore Lokoloko Primary School inthe Gulf Province.

The Prime Minister and Government lLeaderspayedtheir last respects beforethe casket leaves for gulf province.

Sir Tore will be burlied in his home village of Iokea.
