RSPCA’s education program mascot and ambassador ‘Wantok’, has recently visited Gateway Elementary School.

The school which was established in 2008, is located in the midst of Erima Settlement in Port Moresby and provides education service for less fortunate in and around the settlement.

Wantok, together with other two presenters from RSPCA, visited the school as part of the organisation’s education awareness initiative on educating the young on the importance of animals and protecting them.

The visit was to deliver important message on the five (5) basic freedoms of animals and responsible pet ownership.

Children at the school were privileged to receive the mascot and the important information delivered by the two presenters. With the target to educate as many children as possible, this visit and program, increases the total number of schools visited, plus the total number of young children.

The opportunity was made possible with support and assistance from Pastor Rick Paynter, the Chairman of the Gateway Children’s Fund (PNG0 Inc.
