Non-Government Organisation WK Kiddie Peace and Gutpla Sindaun Foundation has begun its prison visit program.
Recently the organisation visited the Bomana Prison, encouraging the message of peace.
A Peace flag was presented to the heads of the Bomana Correctional Institute for this significant visit.
While handing over the Peace Flag, Founder of WK Kiddie Peace and Gutpla Sindaun Watt Kiddie said peace does not come easily, but pure thinking and right conscience does help in achieving peace. Mr Kiddie said if peace is embraced, Papua New Guinea will not experience the high crime rate and other social issues affecting the country.
“The Foundation is working tirelessly through its programs to spread the message of peace in all communities, Government Institution and private sector,” said Mr Kiddie.
The visit is the first, with plans to carry out similar programs in other state correctional institutions in the country.
Over a hundred inmates attended the program.
