Oneg Primary School is the latest educational institution in Goilala District to be part of the Goilala District’s VSAT Program.
Recently Goilala MP, William Samb, held hands with local leaders and the school’s administration to launch the VSAT facility.
MP Samb said despite not receiving its DSIP funding on time, its priority areas of communication, road, agriculture and airstrip will remain.
“The District Development Authority has prioritised the use of VSAT as a step in improving communication standards in the district,” MP Samb said.
“This will see more VSAT projects installed in Primary Schools for our communities to benefit from,” Samb said.
MP Samb maintained that communication is vital for Goilala people.
“We can now watch EMTV News, NBC news and other programs, this has never happened in the past and for us( Goilala people), it’s a development we must take ownership for the benefit for this generation and the generations to come,” said Mr Samb.
Nearly K50,000 was earmarked for the installation of the VSAT facility.
