POM Hockey Competition into Round 7 of its Matches

Port Moresby Hockey Association saw its round 7 matches over the weekend for both the men and women’s divisions.

Players from respective clubs will be using the matches played each weekend, to perform their best.

Team coaches will be selecting a representative side in preparation for the hosting of the association’s tournament in September.

In the men’s competition on Saturday, eight teams played against each other, while Bismark Gold was on a bye.

Sunam Black was the first to play against Global, Wanderers against Seagulls, Bladez took on Bismark Green, and Sunam Gold took on the United.

In the women’s matches on Sunday, Wanderers played against the United, Seagulls against Golden Eagles, Sunam took on MVP Blues, MVP Whites took a draw with Bladez, and Bismark took on the Global.

On the score board in the men’s division, Sunam Black defeated Global 2 goals to nil, Wanderers defeated Seagulls 5 goals to nil, Bladez defeated Bismark Green 8 points to 1, and Sunam Gold pocketed two goals to United’s nil.

In the women’s division, Wanderers defeated Global 3 goals to nil, Seagulls defeated Golden Eagles 2 goals to nil, Sunam won over MVP Blues 9 goals to nil, MVP Whites went on a draw with Bladez, and Bismark won 6 goals defeating Global nil.

This coming weekend will see round 8 of the hockey competition for the men and women’s divisions.
