Ministers Reshuffled and Sworn In

Governor General, Sir Michael Ogio, this afternoon officiated at a swearing in ceremony of a new state minister, and a new parliamentary secretary.

Member for Talasea, Francis Marus, was sworn in as a Minister of State, and Member for Usino-Bundi, Anton Yagama, as Parliamentary Secretary assisting the Minister for Public Enterprises and State Investments, William Duma.

Prime Minister, Peter O’Neill, also announced a few changes in his cabinet.

They include: Francis Marus as Minister for Higher Education, Science and Technology; Malakai Tabar as Minister for Transport and Infrastructure, and Nixon Duban as Minister for Petroleum and Energy.

Commenting on the changes, Prime Minister O’Neill said the ministers appointed have vast experience in their respective portfolios they have been appointed to, having served in those portfolios previously.
