Surfing Association of PNG (SAPNG) is now venturing to other parts of the country, extending one of its recently established programs, and introducing the use of long boards in the country.
SAPNG is leaving later in the week to visit Vanimo, to carry on with the program in line with encouraging and training young surfers from Vanimo on the proper use of both the short and long board.
In line with the visit, SAPNG will also be delivering surf boards to local surfers, both men and women in the communities, and encouraging them to get ready for the upcoming international surfing event in January in Madang.
SAPNG is working on promoting long-boarding in the countries surfing communities, while the majority of the surfers in the country, especially male surfers, are used to using the short boards.
While SAPNG prepares for the big game ahead, there will be spots for a wild card entry into the event for two men and two women.
SAPNG will visit Bougainville next month to carry out similar programs.
