Barramundis to Play Australian State Teams

Over the next two months, the PNG Hebou Barramundis will have the opportunity to play against three Australian state cricket sides.

The matches will serve as preparation for the Barramundis ahead of the South Australian Premier League Cup from September to October.

The Barramundis travelling to Australia will be a boost for the Cricket PNG, they will face Tasmania on August 31, Western Australia on September 2, and Queensland on September 5.

The Barramundis will compete in 50-over contests, as they prepare for the fourth time to play in the South Australian Premier League Cup.

Queensland coach, Phil Jaques, is pleased to able to assist the development of cricket in PNG, which will also be a gain for his team as they continue their off season training.

He also added that the Barramundis have a talented team, which includes some really good cricketers, and he is excited to have the opportunity for his team to play against the Barras.
