Opposition Leader, Don Polye, has welcomed the Supreme Court ruling ordering the recall of parliament within five days.
He has called on Parliamentary Speaker Theo Zurenuoc, to recall parliament this week.
The opposition says it will still move the Vote of No Confidence motion despite not having the immediate numbers.
Polye said the decision is unprecedented and the speaker should act upon the court ruling.
“It is welcoming for the people of PNG and the democracy of our constitution,” he said.
He added that the constitution has spoken and it is now up to the 121 members of parliament to uphold the rule of law.
The Supreme Court ruling is the fourth attempt by the opposition to move the Vote of No Confidence after three failed attempts.
They say it is time an alternate government stepped in and saved the country from the many issues at hand.
Vanimo Green MP, Belden Namah, described the decision as a victory for the people of PNG.
“For the eight million plus people of PNG, I call on members of the parliament to think of their people and vote in a new prime minister,” said Namah.
