As the finals draw near, round 15 was action-packed over the weekend with defending cup champions, Hela Wigman, kept minor premiers, Snax Tigers, at bay to secure a satisfying win, 32 points to 12.
Having a topsy-turvy run earlier this season, the Goroka Lahanis cemented their biggest win of the season over the Mendi Muruks at 38 points to 16.
And living up to the Ovals name as the Graveyard, Kalabond came alive to see Agmark Gurias bury Simbu Lions 34 points to 6.
In other matches, Waghi Tumbe defeated Port Moresby Vipers, 26 points to 18, while Hagen Eagles scraped through a narrow win over Gulf Isapeas, 18 points to 16.
After round 15, both the Tigers and Lions remain at the top of the ladder with a point separating the two.
Gurias with a win under their belt sit in the third spot, while Wigman and Muruks sit in fourth and fifth place.
Both Port Moresby franchises, Port Moresby and Gulf Isapeas, are struggling to register satisfying wins and find themselves at the bottom of the ladder.
