Seven-time defending Men’s Major title champion, Djorne Fong is aiming to retain the title for the eighth time.

His rival, Marcus Ng have outplayed the defending champion on a number of occasions.

The 2014 player of the year, Marcus Ng, has taken out the Alotau Open from champion, Peter Fong, earlier this year and has retained his title for the second time at the Kavieng Open.

This year’s titles will also feature Port Moresby’s Open winner, Ralph Kaina, sharp shooters , Arua Simoi, Noel Ramos, Roger Ng, Poliap Pokanau, Nathan Fong, Kelly Yambi, the Kavieng team of Stallone, Brian, Harry Fong and Alotau’s Robin Charles.

Forty players are registered to take to the table with PNGBSA President, John Chan, saying “There will be plenty of top class snooker action starting on Wednesday and ending with the finals on Sunday.

“The games will be played at Laguna Hotel, Lamana Q Club, Dragons Den and Aviat club and I’d like to thanks the management, staff and members for the use of their facilities to host this PNGBSA prestigious event,” Chan said.
