Volunteers Call on Govt to Pay Them for Pacific Games

Volunteers from the 2015 Pacific Games want to be compensated for the work they put, to ensure the successful delivery of the Games in Port Moresby.

They are calling on the government to recognise their efforts, and want be compensated accordingly.

The volunteers made it known that they deserved to be recognised for their efforts in being a part of the delivery of the pacific games.

The Games Organising Committee, in a statement, have made it very clear that right from the start, that the role undertaken by volunteers were on a voluntary basis, and they were not to be paid.

Yesterday, the GOC hosted a thank you function for all the volunteers and Technical officials who played a part in the games. They were presented with certificates of appreciation, and a medal in appreciation for their role during the Pacific Games.
