Lectures on Cultural Heritage and Museum Studies atthe University of Goroka will continue for anther five years.
UOG togther withPNG National Museum and Art Gallery signedthe Memorandum of Agreement last week renewingthe first MOA signed in 2008.
The MOA also pavesthe way for a new Bechelor of Arts Programme currently being established atthe University.
The occasion was withnessed by staff at JK McCarthy Museum and staff from University of Goroka led by Vice Chancellor Dr Gairo Onagi.
The instruments signed by all parties signifythe continuation of Cultural Heritage Education and Museum Studies, ones that are currently being taught atthe University.
UOG Vice Chancellor Dr Onagi saidthe MOA is timely asthe University prepares for a new Bechelor of Arts Programme withinthe Division ofIndigenous and Development Studies. It’s also a bonus for the University asthe Culture & Arts Heritage Studies, are only offered at UOG.
Withthe MOA in place, all partners believe that scholars will be able to learn traditional teachings from local cultural information rther than depending on foreign consultants, advices on Cultural Development.
