Defending champions Hekari United Football Club will maketheir 8th grand final appearance following an impressive win over Gigira Laitepo inthe major semis ofthe Telikom National Soccer League.
Hekari beat Gigira, 3-nil in a controversial second goal, but went on to sealthe match and will now face FC POM inthe grand final.
It wasthe major semi-finals ofthe semi-professional competition and Girira a young and vibrant team has been pushing for a top finish this season.
The team from Lae was hoping to make an impressive comeback and bettertheir standings inthe NSL beforethe finals; however this was short lived as Hekari dashed to a win through Raymond Gunemba scoring 2 out of 3 goals.
The win gives Hekari a rightful 8th grand final appearance against FC POM next week in Port Moresby.
POM FC defeated BestPNG in Lae to book a grand final berth.
