The opposition maintained its stand thatthe asylum deal is bad for the country, as it is in breach ofthe constitution and against human rights, asthe asylum seekers will be forcefully brought intothe country to be detained bythe national government on Manus Island.
Mr. Kulang said, while Papua New Guineahas an international obligation to assist refugees, it must be done lawfully.

The Opposition has filed a Supreme Court application challengingthe legality ofthe agreement.
Prime Minister Peter O’Neill earlier mentioned a financial package associated withthe agreement.Included arethe funding of Universities infrastructure and redevelopment of Lae’s Angau Hospital.
Betthe opposition disagrees statingthere are no such benefits.
