Narayan Gehlot takes legal action

Dr Narayan Gehlotowho was terminated from duties at Lae’s University of Technology’s over criminal charges, plans to take legal action against those who conspired to defame him.

He has named more than twenty people; amongthem,thPNG University of Technology’s interim council.

 

Dr Gehlotsaidthe case was dismissed becausethe investigation team working onthe UNITECH issue found no evidence against him that was plausible.

 

Dr Gehlotsaid he plans to take twenty five people, whom he has named, to court for conspiring to defame his image and profession.

 

UNITECH’sInterim Council Chancellor Sir Nagora Began responded, sayingthe council has proceeded with normal school duties andthe court case lies withthe Lae Police at present. However,the council will exercise its rights if and when it is subject to a court case.

 

Meantime,the report onthe investigation intothe UNITECH issue was handed tothen Acting Higher education Minister Don Polye last month for cabinet’s perusal.

 

Minister Polye urged all parties involved to accept findings and recommendations made inthe report.
