NCD Governor Powes Parkop has called onthe people of Motu-Koita to vote wisely inthe upcoming Local Level Government Elections.
He said this when handing over K300, 000 tothe Electoral Commission towards hostingthe Motu-Koita LLG elections.
Governor Parkop and NCDC staff met with Electoral Commissioner Andrew Trawen and Election officials for the small ceremony atthPNG Electoral Commission in Port Moresby.
Before presentingthe cheque Governor Parkop’saidthe LLG election for the people of Motu-Koita was important for the future.
This is because for years,the NCDC andthe Motu-Koita Assembly have not seen eye to eye.
An excited Mr Trawen thanked Governor Parkop’sayingthe money will go a long way. He also asked for more support fromthe people during polling.
A total of K750, 000 has been earmarked for the Motu-Koita elections.
Mr Trawen says a confirmed date for polling will be announced shortly beforethe end ofthe week.
